As have I. Organic politics are very boring. [good thing his beautiful children probably won't be involved with it, at least for another decade or so. though... to cybertronians, that's like a week, so.] Do skim it, and then we can talk. I have a few things I need to-- ruminate on.
[the datapacket megatron sends contains the following information that he uncovered in nexus prime's library:]
As the original Primes left Cybertron to go explore the galaxy, many of their successors started vying for power. They used public opinion of the Primes who were slowly turning to legends to their advantage. Prima, the leader of the Primes, considered wise and strong, had founded the city of Iacon. So shouldn’t all born in his city be considered the best among Cybertronian kind? Sentinel made his bid for power based on that idea, and the other Primes followed suit, establishing a hierarchy based on where mechs were sparked. Those blessed to be born in Prima’s city could be scholars, scientists, political leaders, or any other glamorous occupation. But if you were unlucky enough to be born in Kaon, all that waited for you was a life of labor.
A laborer born in Kaon, who would eventually name himself Megatron, thought this was unjust. Nyon’s Prime, Optimus, tried to find a peaceful solution, but civil war soon broke out.
After thousands of years, Megatron and his Decepticons sought to show definitively that the Primes had no power over them. A fragment of Unicron that the Primes had kept as proof of their victory over evil was thrown into the Well of the Allspark, poisoning Cybertron itself. Optimus managed to save the fragment of Primus’ spark that powered the planet, hiding it in a location that only he knew. But Cybertron went dark soon after. The war raged on though, and spread across the galaxy.
No peace was ever reached between Autobots and Decepticons, but after Earth was left uninhabitable and the R2 was stolen by the Decepticons, the Galactic Council blacklisted all Cybertronians, and said that the race needed to be exterminated. The war was considered ‘over’ when both Optimus and Megatron were captured and publicly executed in front of the Council.
